Composting - An Introduction To The Basics
by cherie aleong - Monday, 25 February 2008, 09:06 PM
Anyone in the world

By Joanne Jones More and more cities are developing composting programs, where homeowners can place food scraps in a green bin. The city collects the green bins and starts large compost piles. When the materials in the pile are fully broken down, the city then offers the new compost soil either for free or for a small fee. This new, composted soil is rich in nutrients and eliminates the need for chemical fertilizers in your garden. The following items can be composted:
Food scraps (do not include meat, bone or fat scraps)
Egg shells
Peels (from potatoes, oranges, apples, bananas, etc)
Old and/or rotten fruits and vegetables (i.e.: grapes, potatoes)
Grass clippings, leaves, straw, hay
Pine cones, needles and sawdust
Coffee grounds and tea bags
Soil If you prefer, you can create your own compost pile. Most compost piles should be a square meter to work with. Use course materials and branches at the bottom of the compost pile to allow for air circulation and to allow extra moisture to drain out. The compost pile should warm up after 24 hours of starting one. Rotate the compost pile once a week with a pitchfork, which will let fresh oxygen into the pile. It is the oxygen and the heat that quickly break down the materials in the compost pile. It takes several weeks for the materials to completely break down into soil. You can tell when the compost pile is ready to use when the materials you put into the pile are no longer identifiable. If you are using a compost bin, check the instructions on the bin. Some bins have a separate compartment at the bottom of the bin, which allows air to come in. In this case, you will not need to include course materials and branches at the bottom. The advantages of bins, especially in urban centers, are that they protect from the weather and keep out wild animals, such as raccoons. Compost tumblers, which are often the shape of a barrel, also work quickly. As the name suggests, this type of compost bin has a handle, which allows you to easily turn or rotate the material within the tumbler. They are often smaller than a compost bin, which makes them perfect for a small family in the city. You can continue to use your compost pile, bin or tumbler during the winter. The materials wont decompose over the winter, particularly if the weather is below the freezing point. Do continue to place compost materials in your pile during winter, as it will start to decompose once spring starts. Here are some additional tips on how to get the most out of your compost pile or bin: Tip #1: It is best not to include food that has mold on it, as the mold may not be killed off during the composting process. Tip #2: If you have the time, break down the items to be composted into smaller pieces before you add them to the compost pile. This will help to speed up the composting process. Terminally Ill - What Would You Do?
by cherie aleong - Sunday, 24 February 2008, 10:22 PM
Anyone in the world

By Joanne Robbins What would you do if you were diagnosed with a terminal illness? That is a question most people never think about. We just assume it will never happen to us or anyone we are close to. It was never a subject of discussion in our household until Bill was diagnosed with colon cancer in January, 2000. What began as a simple problem with constipation escalated rapidly until the only relief he had was having drunk half a bottle of laxative. While we were enjoying the holidays of 1999 with our children it became very apparent to me that he was sick this wasnt just something he could fix with a laxative on a regular basis. At the time we had not known anybody with these symptoms and really didnt know where to turn for answers. Bill met with his family doctor in January and within two weeks underwent a surgical procedure to remove most of his colon. His bowels now worked almost normally with an ileostomy. He wore an appliance to handle his bowel waste. There were many weeks of painful recovery from such a terrible surgery followed by several months of chemotherapy. We were all overcome with joy when his doctor said they had gotten the cancer. Once again Bill was free to live his life. That experience that brush with death gave him a new outlook on his life. Before getting sick he spent many hours working hard at a successful business, meeting after work with clients and scheduling weekend appointments, now he came home to spend time with his children. Bill didnt stop going to the office everyday and he still made a fine living. Bill told me later that the most important change in his attitude after the cancer was realizing the need to provide for his children if he died. Now that he had that thought foremost in his mind he set about making those provisions. With the help of an attorney friend Bill put his affairs in order. Over the years he had accumulated several life insurance policies, business and real estate interests. With the help of his attorney Bill created a trust for his children which would be funded by the life insurance proceeds. One year later Bill stoically received the news that his cancer was back and inoperable. I have to admire him for his attitude of normalcy. He was honest with our children and told them he was dying. There was another round of chemotherapy without results. Bill signed-up for an experimental chemotherapy program at a teaching hospital several hours from our home, not because he thought it would prolong his life, but rather in the hope another person could benefit from the results. The day before that experimental therapy was to begin Bill went into the hospital for the last time. I learned a difficult lesson when Bill died, one he had learned early-on and acted on to his credit. When there are children left behind it is imperative you have life insurance. Without the trust, funded by his life insurance, Bills children would be not only struggling with losing their father, but also worrying about their future. Though several years have passed since Bill died I will always be extremely thankful that he had the love and foresight to create a family trust. Now, as the children graduate from high school and leave for college, they know because of their Dad college is not just a dream but a certainty. Advantages of Forming a Corporation
by cherie aleong - Thursday, 21 February 2008, 04:20 PM
Anyone in the world

By Jo Ann Joy A corporation is a separate and distinct legal entity created under the laws of a state. The individuals who are part of the legal entity consist of shareholders, board of directors, and officers. A corporation can legally enter into contracts, file lawsuits, be a defendant in a lawsuit, pay taxes, and conduct its business. You should consult a legal profession before you decide whether or not to incorporate your business. The following are some of the advantages of operating your business as a corporation: Limited Liability. This is one of the most important reasons to form a corporation. Because a corporation is considered a separate legal entity, the shareholders personal assets are not at risk for satisfying corporate obligations. Corporate Tax Treatment. A corporation pays taxes separately from its shareholders at the corporate rate. The shareholders pay personal income taxes on payments they receive from the corporation in salaries, bonuses, and dividends.
Stock Incentives. Corporations can offer stock options or stock to their employees as an employee benefit that can make employees more loyal to the company. Employee Benefits. A stockholder who is also an employee of the corporation may be eligible for reimbursement or a tax deduction for health and life insurance, travel, and other expenses. Structure. Corporations consist of shareholders who are the owners of a corporation, and they elect the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors hires officers. The officers usually are CEO and/or president, vice president, treasurer, and a secretary. If the corporation is large, there may also be a Chief Financial Officer, a Chief Human Resources Officer, and other management officers. All officers are required to follow the standards and policies set by the Board of Directors. The officers manage the daily operations of the corporation. Easy to Attract Investors. The corporation can sell its stock to investors which gives them an ownership interest in the corporation and makes it more attractive to investors.
Uninterrupted Existence. A corporation still exists even if the shareholders, the Board, and the officers leave the business. Transferable Shares. Corporate stock can generally be freely bought and sold, because the corporation is not affected by who the shareholders are. If shareholders die or sell their stock, the corporation continues to exist and is unchanged. Of course, the transfer of stock may be regulated or restricted by federal or state securities laws. Active Listening
by cherie aleong - Tuesday, 19 February 2008, 09:03 PM
Anyone in the world

By Clare Evans Listening is one of the most effective communication skills we can learn. For it to be really effective we must learn to 'actively' listen. Normal everyday listening allows us think about what's being said, form a response, offer a solution or advice. We might just be waiting for them to stop talking so we can say jump in with our own opinion or perspective. However, listening is about more than what's being said. What are the words being used? What is the tone of voice, what feelings are being expressed? What is the body language of the speaker? Active listening is about listening to what the person is saying without jumping to any conclusion or interpreting what they're saying according to your own perceptions. When we listen to someone speak, we do so at a number of levels from the superficial 'only half listening' to the total focus of deeper listening. Superficial - not really there, thoughts or attention are somewhere else and the interest is low. May make the right 'listening' noises, nod and murmur agreement but the person isn't really listening. Level 1 - What does this mean to me? We hear the words but are using our own interpretation and judgement to decide what it means to me. There may be a need for more information. Someone listening at this level is likely to impose their own opinions and thoughts on the conversation. Level 2 - This is good for general conversation. The listener is focused on the other person and not what's going on around them. At this level the listener may be leaning forward, head to one side, making appropriate eye contact, shows they are listening. They are aware of the speaker's feelings as well as the words being said. Keeps focus in order to fully understand. Is able to summarise and clarify what's been said. Level 3 - This is a much deeper level of listening. It's about listening for what's not being said. Using your intuition to truly understand the other person and what they're feeling. The listener is totally focused on the other person and totally unaware of themselves, their thoughts or anything else. This level is used by counsellors, coaches and therapists. How to improve your listening skills: Face the person, make appropriate eye contact and nod your head or make appropriate sounds or gestures to show you're listening. When encouraging someone to talk - don't ask 'closed' questions that simply require a 'Yes or No' answer but ask 'open-ended' questions - how, what, when, where ...? If you catch yourself being distracted or drifting off in your own thoughts - be honest and apologise to the speaker - "Sorry, I was thinking about what you said earlier, could you repeat what you just said". Focus your attention back on the person in front of you. Try listening not just with your hearing but with all your other senses. What is the person really saying? Do the words match the tone and energy of the speaker? How do they feel? Summarise what's been said to you to show you understand. Be aware that when you listen, you are listening from your own point of view of the world and that your listener may have a different perspective on things. Take your cue from them. Notice your conversations over the next few days. When are you really listening? What difference do you notice when you change the way you listen. Your Safety: Criminials in Russia
by cherie aleong - Monday, 18 February 2008, 02:57 PM
Anyone in the world

By Irina Chernoff I have already told you that one of our clients is staying in Kazan now. I called him a brave man. Sometimes I hear some sad stories about postponing meetings between Western men and our women. They can fail because mens close people and relations persuade them not to go to dangerous Russia. Bandits all over! If you are lucky to escape them you are certain to be caught by KGB. It would be very funny but I see this argument works and some men take it really serious! Yes, we have a high level of criminal activity in Russia. Yes, our criminals tend to form bands. Yes, Russian laws work poorly. Its true. But how can WE live here?? If everything were so terrible we would have been murdered long ago! Ask yourself; where in the world there are no criminals? Where is this paradise? We like having rest at such wonderful resorts as the Turkish, Italian, French and Spanish seaside. You mean there are no criminals in these countries? Im going to tell you a typical story that happened in Kazan with our current guest. Yesterday he came to our office with Sabina, our manager. He had to spend the night at her place! Whats happened?, we asked. It turned out to be that he failed to unlock his door and spent 4 hours outside. When he finally became frozen all over he called Sabina. It was 1 a.m.! She came and they tried to unlock the door together. It was dark and they thought the door was curved and the lock broken. Robbers! Sabina had to take our guest to her house. Having heard this story I thought, Its just in time! Im writing a newsletter about safety in Russia! We called some workers to unlock the door and change the lock but there was no need in the latter. The door was OK and nobody tried to burst in. Our guest simply twisted the bolts too tightly and the door wouldnt open. Take a deep breath and relax. smile) But Next morning he came with his forehead broken! Whats up?!, we asked. I thought the worst: beating, robbery But he just slipped and fell down in the bath. Now Im asking myself, Whats it that is going to happen with him tomorrow??? smile)) I call this story happened in Kazan a typical one because it is VERY real. We are ready to face troubles more than good things. We tell each other horror stories and worry a lot but we tend to learn about the majority of crimes from evening documentaries It seems like a virtual world showing some events that happen in our city and country but do not affect us personally (thanks God!smile! Crimes can take place in all countries. Lets just count: Al-Kagida in America, basks in Spain, IRA in England, Albanians in Western Europe, Pakistanis in Israel, the North Korea in the Far East, extreme military Muslim bands in the Middle East Oh, no registered acts of terrorism in Antarctica! How about meeting there? I feel sad when I hear that our men and women can spoil their wonderful relations long before they meet. They just discuss the place of meeting and misunderstanding! Its much more expensive for a man to meet a woman in his country, for example, a European one. But mens relations are persistent in talking him out of going to Russia. Of course, the best variant is to meet your fiance in her country. Youll be able to understand her personality better and meet her family and friends. This will make you see your future wife in various situations. Youll have a chance to see her place and the conditions of everyday life. Youll get more information than from a hundred of letters.
In case you are scared of Russia so much maybe you would better seek an American wife? wink But I dont think it is going to be the best choice. Ive just seen a well-known joke in the net. This is an American joke and it very well fits the situation: "Its easier to teach a Russian woman English than an American one to be a good wife!" Anyone thinking the other way??? smile Irina Chernova I am 28 years old Russian female, working in dating field for almost 7 years and my specialty is dating articles for ChanceForlove Russian Dating Services Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Irina_Chernoff http://EzineArticles.com/?Your-Safety:-Criminials-in-Russia&id=111545 order phentermine online cod cheap generic phentermine phentermine no doctor prescription phentermine with out a prescription

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder If you are looking at getting a payday loan or a cash advance loan, you probably already know that one of the main drawbacks to getting one of these types of loans is that the fees can be so high. The positive side of getting a payday loan or a cash advance loan is that they are so convenient. If you are in a temporary bind and in need of some fast cash, its a discreet, quick way to tide your financial situation over until you get paid on your next pay day. Even if you have bad credit, you can get approved for this type of personal loan. Payday loans are a quick way to get a fast cash loan until you get paid on your next pay day. It is also very fast to get this loan online. There are even payday loan companies who can get you the money almost in an instant, same day, in less than 1 hour. The only drawback with payday loans are the high fees. There are a few ways to save on fees for getting a payday loan or cash advance loan. 1. Start with a lender who charges no fees for your first loan with them. On your first time getting a payday loan or cash advance loan, there is a company that actually charges you zero fees on the first loan. It's hard to believe but your first loan with them is actually free. To see our recommendation, click on the link below. 2. Make sure you start the loan or have it deposited the absolute last day that you can wait to have the money deposited and then pay off the loan the day you get paid. With the highinterest that these loans charge, you dont want the money sitting in your bank account doing nothing while charging you interest at the rate of 400-500% or more. 3. Only borrow the minimum amount you can get away with borrowing. The usual rates for payday or cash advance loans range from $8-$30 per 100 borrowed, per week. You could save yourself $60-$90 just by borrowing $200-$300 less. 4. Shop around for the payday loan or cash advance lender with the lowest fees per week. Your Tummy Tuck Keep It Looking Good
by cherie aleong - Saturday, 16 February 2008, 09:20 AM
Anyone in the world

By Robert H Having a tummy tuck is a serious decision for anyone to make and probably involved a lot of soul searching before you decided to go ahead with the procedure.
There was probably an awful lot of planning on your behalf to fit having the procedure done into your schedule especially if you lead a busy life. Then there was the time you invested researching into the different tummy tuck procedures available, finding the right surgeon you felt comfortable with and who had the necessary experience to help you accomplish your goals of that nicely contoured tummy you are now able to show off. Then of course there was the expense side in monetary terms any cosmetic/plastic surgery does not come cheap and a tummy tuck is no exception. One of the main questions patients ask usually after they have had the procedure is how long will my results last.
Well the answer to that is real simple that is entirely up to you. But a few things need to be remembered here no surgeon can stop the ageing process eventually we all succumb to that one way or another.
But there are things you can do to preserve your new look tummy, eating the correct foods and improving your diet is one area that will help you along with regular exercise. A lot of people put themselves through the process of having a tummy tuck and dont have a maintenance plan and find themselves quickly piling on the pounds and slowly reversing the surgeons good work. The best thing you can do is plan ahead for after you have had your tummy tuck operation go and see your regular doctor and ask him to advise you of a dietitian you can see and work with the dietitian to formulate a personal diet for yourself. This will help you keep the pounds off, but do it before you go for your operation or it will become one of the things that you are going to get round to do, make it happen! The other thing I would suggest you do is take up some kind of sport or physical activity. Or alternatively seek some advice from a fitness expert who depending on your capabilities will be able to suggest some kind of activity for you. There is always some kind of activity that will help you keep fit and help to stop you gaining extra weight even if it is only ballroom dancing. The key thing here again though is to try and set this all up before you have your tummy tuck operation. This way you can start a fresh regime once you have fully recovered from the tummy tuck procedure. Keeping The Faith
by cherie aleong - Friday, 15 February 2008, 06:03 AM
Anyone in the world

By Linda Dipman Two weeks ago my daughter, Christy, and I were having a conversation. She stated that most girls have the kind of mom who share a spa day with them, who invite them to go get their nails done together or try out a new hairstyle. We both laughed at her words, because I was opposite from this kind of mom. In fact, my daughter ended the conversation with the statement, "Instead I get a mom who wants to save the world. And on top of it you dragged me into doing it too!" I don't know what I would do without my daughter, I trust her completely. She edited my book. She edits every article I write and of course made some of the article writing hers. "Haunted Typewriter or God" and "The Key To The World Is Love" were her titles. She is also constructing my website: lovinghandsministry.com Christy has three children. Samuel is always reminding me that he is going to be four very soon. Paige just turned 2 and Sofia is 6 months. All are very energetic and Christy must give up sleep in order to work for me. Her faith in God is great and she endeavors to teach her children the same principles. She is all about living a Christian life and being a faithful and loving wife to her husband and a loving and good mom to her children. I tell her all the time that she comes from a long line of great Christian mothers. You would never believe that Christy had ever experienced anything but good in her lifetime. Most people believe that you can't be so grounded and be such a good person if something bad has ever happened to you. You just had to have lived a charmed life! The common phrase we always hear is 'bad things always happen to bad people'. Yet what people think is truth is often a lie. The real truth is that bad things happen to good people because our world is under the rule of Satan. John 5:19, "We know that we belong to God even though the whole world is under the rule of the Evil One." When Christy was five and attending kindergarten the worse possible thing happened in her life. Her parents divorced and she and her brothers became the ponds in a huge custody battle. I suppose this custody fight wouldn't have been so traumatic if it weren't for the fact that our family was so religious. Her dad was an ordained deacon and his father was a Baptist minister. My own sister and her husband were in full time ministry and I our family came from a long line of ministers and missionaries. Everything Christy was ever taught was about obeying God and serving in church. You see in 1986 divorce was a very big sin! Yet there is a sin that is bigger than divorce and that is the sin of being gay! I would go as far as to say that for the church it is even bigger than murder! Churches preach that homosexuality is wrong! Using Sodom and Gomorrah as a story illustrating God's hatred of gays. But they quietly leave out scripture that leaves out the real reason for the destruction of these cities. 2 Peter 2:6, "God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, destroying them with fire, and made them an example of what will happen to the godless." The scripture specifically states that it was not about sexual sin, but about godlessness. Never the less churches, families, and society throw out their gay family members because the churches skip these scriptures. Because Theologians and religious historians refuse to set the record straight, homosexuals are deprived of their children and denied justice in the courts. They are humiliated, persecuted, killed and despised all in the name of God. Ezekiel 16:48-50, "As surely as I am the living God, the Sovereign Lord says, 'your sister Sodom and her villages never did the evil that you and your villages have done. She and her daughters were proud because they had plenty to eat and lived in peace and quiet, but they did not take care of the poor and the underprivileged. They were proud stubborn and did the things that I hate, so I destroyed them, as you well know.'" They say, love the sinner but hate the sin. But Christy can tell you that this is not true! You can not love what you hate. It is like telling Satan that he has to love God and we all know how impossible that would be! Because people have been misled by the church, everything I did as a good Christian mother was counteracted by me falling in love with a woman. It didn't matter how much I loved my children or how diligent I was in teaching them about God and doing service in my church. Because of false teachings, a huge tug-of-war began not just between husband and wife, but with husband, church, family, friends and society all against me. A battle that was so tipped in favor of her dad that Christy struggled to love me regardless of what they said about me. In fact, Christy and her brothers became so entangled in the fight for who had the right to be custodial parent that you would have thought that they would have never had anything to do with God ever! Because God was the reason they were not to love their mother. They were told they couldn't love me because I was living a life of sin. They were confused by strangers who told them how unlucky they were to have a mom who had fallen from God's grace and chose to live an ungodly lifestyle. From church to school to the small town they lived in, they were constantly the center of unwanted attention because of their Satan possessed mother. Christy didn't want this kind of attention! She just wanted her mom. She didn't care what the church had to say, she just wanted to live with her mom. She didn't understand why everyone was in such an uproar, because she saw me as the same mom who loved her and had taken care of her since birth. So you can see that her childhood was not peaceful. She was taken away from her mom and given to her dad. I was given no visitation and as a result I fled with my children and was arrested and put in jail while Christy endured being put in the hands of the SRS. Christy saw her mother attacked by her father, while the pastor and a deacon watched. She saw her mother being stalked by church members in the name of God. She saw her grandparents turn their back on her mother and wish her dead. She was forced into counseling as a small child. She was forced to go before a judge and tell him who she wanted to live with. Even after she stated she wanted to live with her mom, the judge ignored her words. Time and again she was involved in one court proceeding after another while her testimony to live with her mother was disregarded. Whenever visitation resumed with her mother she was interrogated by her father, councilors, and family. It is amazing today from the persecution my daughter endured from church, society and family members that she came through fifteen years of childhood holding onto her faith regardless of whether her prayers were answered or not. It took until my daughter was an adult and able to make up her own mind that she began to see the mother that I really was. A mother who loved her and wanted the best for her and her family. Today our bond is strong because of our mission to tell the world the truth about God and love! A Few Gardens Built By The Moghuls
by cherie aleong - Wednesday, 13 February 2008, 07:57 PM
Anyone in the world

By Paul Cris India today, comprises of several magical gardens built by the Moghuls. The first Moghul immigrant to India was Babur who ruled the kingdom of Agra from the year 1483 to 1530. Besides being a warrior he was blessed with a poetic talent also. He mentioned a few lines about India when he wrote his autobiography. He discovered that India was a land where water was in abundance and at the same time there was no water logging during monsoons. Hence, the Indian nation was considered as the land best suited for building gardens. Babur found a location on the banks of the Yamuna river at Agra and this location was later converted into a garden named Ram Bagh. It was the first garden ever built by Moghuls and it still exists today. The notable feature about this garden is the flowers that are widespread in the garden premises. This garden is termed as the four fold paradise as the garden is divided into four main spheres. Each garden is separated from the running water that flows in shallow channels. Large water tanks supply water to the channels through gravity. Amber fort has one of the gardens, which was established in 1592 by the Rajput Emperor named Raja Man Singh I. The garden was formerly a parade ground and is now converted into a four square garden. Elephants here help carry the tourists to the place. When you travel 8 kilometers from Agra, you will view a mausoleum built by Akbar. It has a large park that surrounds a building built of red brick and marble. This garden is divided into quadrants and each sphere has a fountain, a sunken pond, fruit trees, birds, deer and monkeys. Taj Mahal is one of the most magnificent monuments, built by the Moghul king Shah Jahan as a memorial for his wife. It has a beautiful garden that is divided into two portions with a broad channel in between. One side is filled with groves of trees and the other side is filled with a fountain. Fatehpur Sikri is situated 37 kilometers from Agra. It is a walled city built with a blend of Hindu and Islamic style in the year 1571. Here only one garden exists today. Travel Writer Jobs, What Are They And How To Find Them

Anyone in the world

By Niall Cinneide Travel writing jobs are few and far between. Getting into this field is hard to do and requires a lot of training and experience. But, there are many benefits to them. There are many individuals who would love to get employment opportunities in this field. And, because the world is faster and faster becoming accessible to more people, increasing employment availability can be found for travel jobs as well. But, how does a person get in and how do they do their job? Travel writer jobs belong mainly to freelance authors, travelling far and wide. They learn about the amusements, the attractions, and the little secrets of the towns, cities, and countries they visit. Then, they provide this knowledge to the general public in the form of articles, books, or even transcriptions. It is amazing that many people go from location to location by simply learning about different areas and using this knowledge to write. But, this work is far from easy. It may be costly to afford to do this type of traveling. It often does not pan out as a worthwhile adventure anyway. It is often difficult to find publishers or employment vacancies in this area as well. To get these types of jobs, it will often take experience in the writing field and the researching field. Freelance opportunities, in which the author will visit locations at his own expense, are necessary. In other, simpler cases, a breakthrough into the business can be done by working for the local newspaper or through a magazine. In any case, though, it will require time to develop the necessary knowledge. When looking for vacancies like these, it would be wise to realize that it will take time to build up the reputation needed to get these opportunities. Perhaps working on less glamorous writing jobs will have to be taken in order to have stepping stones out into the travel writing world. If you have the funds and the talent it is easy to go out and find locations to write about without being commissioned to do so. But, there is no guarantee of any of this type of work paying off. Patience may be the only way to get into and maintain a career in this field of writing.
